The author discovered an English translation of Battuta’s travel book while living in Saudi Arabia (Rumford, ). It is interesting that this book was published around the time of Septem , and Rumford was concerned about its reception. It is another example of a positive Arab role model for students to learn about through literature.   While Arab publishers have often been a “jack of all trades” in the printed book market, a lack of expertise doesn’t fit with the realities of the e-market.
